The Menzies Development Committee (MDC) was established in 2008 to help to guide the strategic direction of the Communications and Development Unit.

The primary roles of the MDC are:

• To ensure fundraising income streams are developed by engaging a new generation of supporters and by developing new relationships through fundraising and ‘friend raising’.
• To advise the Board and Executive of Menzies on fundraising activities at a strategic level.
• To monitor the performance of the fundraising and external relations functions of the Communications and Development Unit to ensure the long-term self sufficiency of the Unit.

The MDC has a secondary role to consider any Menzies matter relevant to PR, marketing and fundraising and, where appropriate, make recommendations to the Board.
