Biography:
Mandy is a Senior Project Officer on the NHMRC funded project “Return to Country: A national platform study to return Indigenous renal patients home.
She is interested in culture, race, diversity and inclusion, particularly as it relates to health care provision and patient-practitioner communication. Mandy’s research areas include cultural competency, racism, racial/ethnic health inequities and family violence.
Mandy received her PhD in Public Health at the University of Melbourne in 2016. Her doctoral research involved a case study of organisational cultural competence in a community health setting. She completed her Masters in Public Health in 2010 and has also been a practicing optometrist for over 15 years.
