Sara translates evidence-based research related to acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease to support the Australian health workforce.
Sara has a strong nursing, project management research background. She has provided direct support to RHD control in Australia and in several Pacific Island countries and led various research projects including national surveillance of acute rheumatic fever (2018-2010), continuous quality improvement for rheumatic heart disease control in Fiji (2010-2014), and statewide screening for rheumatic heart disease in South Australia (2015-2017).
Sara produced the 2012 and 2020 Australian clinical guidelines for acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease, and she continues to maintain the Guidelines, ARF diagnosis app and eLearning program in collaboration with an expert clinical and cultural support network.
